Venue Details

The HUMANE seminar will take place at the SGH Warsaw School of Economics in the university’s newest building, which opened in October 2024. This eco-friendly building meets the highest standards for studying and teamwork. The SGH building at 8 Batorego Street is called the SGH Innovation Space Center.

Seminar Fee

Staff from HUMANE Member Institutions and Residential School Alumni benefit from the members rate of €685 (for non-members the fee is €985 – see below). The fee includes the catering within the programme (coffee breaks, lunch on Thursday and Friday plus the Thursday dinner). It does not include travel or accommodation.

Non HUMANE Members may attend if they meet the following criteria: they are from a higher education institution that delivers degree programmes in at least two of the three Bologna cycles (BA, MA, doctorate). Non-member applications are subject to review before acceptance. The Secretariat will apply the correct fee.

Accommodation

You are responsible for your own hotel reservation.

We also always advise to check accommodation platforms  such as booking.com for best deals based on your travel dates, although it is often also worth checking the aggregator’s rates with the hotel’s own rates before finalising your booking.

Meals and Social Programme Information

  • Lunches will be taken at the times indicated in the main programme at the University
  • Information about the time and venue of the Thursday evening Seminar Dinner will be sent to registered participants by email closer to the time

Photography

HUMANE may use a professional photographer or HUMANE staff to take images at its events, we do this for publicity purposes (to add on our website, for example).

We ask that if you do not wish your image to be taken, then please let the photographer know.

Phishing and email scams

There is an increasing trend for seminars and events to be targeted by phishing and email scams. If you do receive any communication that looks suspicious please contact the HUMANE Secretariat. HUMANE never works with or promotes any third party travel companies in its seminar organisation neither for participants nor speakers.

How to get to Warsaw from Warsaw Chopin Airport

You can reach the centre of Warsaw (near the recommended hotels) from Warsaw Chopin Airport using the following modes of transportation:

Bus line 175 – the bus stop is located on the upper level of the departures hall.
Fast Urban Rail (Szybka Kolej Miejska) – timetables available online (S2, S3)

Tickets are available in 20-minute, 75-minute, and 90-minute denominations. Tickets must be purchased before boarding and validated upon entering the vehicle, or purchased from the ticket machine on board (card payment accepted).

Local taxis are located right in front of the airport terminal.
