HUMANE Thematic Expert Groups
Calling for HUMANE members to lead a thematic expert group
The Board of HUMANE has decided to set thematic expert groups to share ideas, good practices and knowledge among HUMANE member universities, as an additional benefit to the HUMANE membership.
The 180+ HUMANE member universities represent a tremendous potential and level expertise, not only in the cooperation between Heads of Administration but also in the specialist fields in which senior managers of professional services are working such as HR, finances, IT, research management, international relations, external relations and outreach, infrastructure, GPDR and many other areas. Knowledge and good practice sharing between professional service senior managers is at the heart of HUMANE activities, helping members with new solutions to common problems.
HUMANE is calling for members toexpress their interest in steering thematic expert groups under one of the following categories (or other categories to be proposed), for an initial two-year period:
- GDPR
- Risk & Compliance
- HR and talent management
- Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence
- Communications & Public Relations
- Alumni Relations
- Student Services
- Academic Libraries
If you are interested in leading such a thematic expert group, please indicate so by completing this form before Friday 14 February 2025. We have in mind that groups can be steered by one or two people.
Key principles
The thematic expert groups will operate under the following common principles:
- All HUMANE members are invited to contribute to set up thematic groups
- Every HUMANE member university may propose an idea for a group, as well as take on its steering
- All the groups will work according to common principles and in one technological environment
- Joining a thematic group is possible at any time
- The entire process is led by a representative of the HUMANE Board of Directors
- Within each thematic group, there will be regular webinars; projects may emerge to develop common solutions or recommendations, as well as collecting and disseminating good practices in HUMANE and beyond
