John Heniff
Principal, Huron Consulting Group, US
John is a senior leader who specializes in helping health systems, academic medical centers and education institutions design and implement strategies that optimize the effectiveness of human resources (HR). He guides leadership teams through large-scale HR transformation initiatives that increase internal efficiency and strengthen the employee experience.
Throughout his career, John has led clients through comprehensive efforts to re-imagine HR, from implementing new enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to redesigning legacy business processes. He specializes in working with organizations to develop new HR operating models and successfully prepare employees to take on new HR roles and responsibilities.
John is a member of numerous professional associations, including the Society for Human Resource Management, the Illinois Information Technology Association and the American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration.
Leon van der Zande

Secretary General, University of Amsterdam, NL
Leon van de Zande is Secretary General and head of administration of the University of Amsterdam since November 2023.
He is secretary to the Executive Board and responsible for the professional services in the university.
He obtained a degree in Dutch Language and Literature at Utrecht University and has been working at that university since 1995 in different positions: since 2009 as director of the Academic Affairs Office and Student Services and between 2016 and 2022 as Secretary General.

Bart van de Laar

Bart van de Laar is the pioneer and programme manager of Utrecht University impact strategy.
Before his present position he coordinated the university’s international strategy, including strategic partnerships and networks, reporting to the board of the university. He was appointed in 2020 to lead the now finalized four-year strategic programme Internationalisation.
He’s an inclusive innovator at the interface of science and society with a keen eye for international collaboration and brings more than twenty years of experience in national and international projects. Impact-driven and skilled in strategy development, programme management, science engagement and education. Background in Biology and Environmental Sciences. Has a strong belief in individual choice, learning and growing.
Van de Laar is the university representative to the Coimbra Group.
Van de Laar is course director of the Utrecht summer school Advocacy for Academic Freedom.
