City Tax – from April 2023

Please note that the city of Konstanz will demand a tax by the beginning of April, 2023 – it will be called the “Bettensteuer” (bed-tax) that every guest has to pay for the whole stay. The indications are that the tax will be 5,6% on the hotel room price. With the payment of the “Bettensteuer” every guest receives a “guest card” a so called: “Bodenseekarte”. Here the use of public transportation in Konstanz and around (bus/train) will be for free.

Helpful tips from Christina, our local organiser:

Hotel Ibis Styles and Ibis Budget (No 1 and 2) is one and the same hotel. They are not in the center of the city but are only 200m from a bus stop (bus stop is called “Neuwerk”) that has buses going in the direction of the university every half hour.

Hotel Ibis (No3) is completely independent from the No 1 and No2 Ibis hotels! It is located beyond the old “Rhine-Bridge” and is nearer to the university.

Hotel Hirschen and Hotel Graf Zeppelin are in the medieval centre of Konstanz.
