This is the privacy policy for the website www.humane.eu, the website of HUMANE asbl. 

In order for HUMANE to provide you with the relevant service(s), we collect personal data for correspondence purposes, including electronic correspondence and/or detailed service provision.

HUMANE strives for transparency and trust when it comes to protecting your privacy and we aim to clearly explain how we collect and process your information. This policy outlines how we collect and use different types of personal information, and the reasons for doing so.

This privacy statement is regularly reviewed. This current version was published in May 2018 to coincide with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

HUMANE collects data and information from its members and users when joining the association, attending a HUMANE event, subscribing to various HUMANE mailing lists and/or responding to a survey or form.

HUMANE may process (collect, store and use), as appropriate, your name, position, employer institution, email address, mailing address and phone number.

We make every effort to keep your information accurate and up to date, and not keep it for longer than is necessary.

How does HUMANE use your information?

Any information HUMANE collects from its users may be used in one of the following ways:

  • To improve services to our members
  • To process registrations for HUMANE events
  • To provide information on HUMANE activities and events

HUMANE, at your request, can confirm what information we hold about you and how it is processed. If HUMANE does hold personal data about you, you can request to have access to the information at any time.

If you do not wish to receive e-mails from our company in future, please contact us at the above address. If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, HUMANE provides unsubscribe instructions and options at the bottom of each email communication we send.

How does HUMANE protect my information?

HUMANE places a great deal of care and attention in making sure that your data is secure and protected and we have a variety of security measures in place to maintain the safety of your personal information to minimise the risk of unauthorised access or disclosure.

If we transfer or receive your data on our website, we always use the coding technologies recognised as accepted standards within the IT sector.

The HUMANE website does not use any cookies at this time.

Relationships with Third Parties

HUMANE does not have any partnerships or special relationships with advertising bodies.

HUMANE does not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties personally identifiable information.

Some organisations, however, process the data on our behalf.

When users register for an event, their information, limited to full name, title, institution and email address may be distributed to other attendees and any sponsor(s) of the event registered for. As a community of professionals in education the main purpose of providing this information is to help facilitate networking and making connections.

  • access their Personal data and to be informed about its use
  • correct their Personal data
  • have their Personal data deleted
  • restrict the use of their Personal data
